Source 4: Book of Deaths Extracted From Chappaqua, N.Y., Quaker Records Francis F. Spies Mount Vernon, NY, 1932
This record was begun by Thomas Dodge, who was caretaker or sexton of the Quaker burial ground at Chappaqua Meeting and a coffin maker. The burial ground was the only one in that Community (except a few private grounds) for many years. The records contain about 2200 deaths, at Chappaqua and elsewhere, of Friends and others, the earliest being about 1807. The first page, now extant, is much worn and possibly some previous pages are lost.
