Henry was born on 17 Apr 1806 in the parish of Wigton, Cumberland. He was christened on 1 Jun 1806 in Wigton, Cumberland. His parents were Henry Gate and Jane Barnes.
Henry married Nancy Douglas on 26 May 1836 at All Saints Church, Boltongate, Boltons.
In 1841, Henry was working as an agricultural labourer and living at Greenfoot, Boltons with his wife Nancy (referred to as Ann) and a son, Henry.
In 1851, he was working as an agricultural labourer and living at Greenfoot, Boltons with his wife Nancy and four children.

Pre-merge this profile was shown to be the son of Henry Gates born in 1752. Should evidence be found to support this ancestry rather than him being the son of Harry Gate then he should be moved there.
Henry Gates and Harry Gate are clearly not the same person and should not be merged, though given the names and locations they may well be related.
