Ida Kemper was born in 1860. She is the daughter of John Gaulden and Jane McFall.
"She was educated at the Ninety-Six Academy and the Due west Women's College where she graduated in 1879[1] as salutatorian of her class. She taught school a year or two and on December 2, 1886 was married to Stephen M Davis. To them were born four children, viz.: John g. Davis, Stephen Leslie Davis, Charles Davis and Jane, who died in infancy. Ida G. Davis and her infant daughter are buried in the family burying grounds, making four generations resting there."[2]
