Biography

Peter Gault was born Richard Gault and Catherine Baer on 14 Jan 1814. He married Susanna Garver sometime before their first child was born in 1839.^[1] According to the 1850 census,^[2] Peter (36), Susanna (36) lived in Congress, Ohio along with their five children: Joseph (11), Samuel (9), Sarah (8), Mary (5), and Aaron Gault (2). Susanna passed away on 26 Apr 1852.^[3].

Several months later, Peter married Rosanna Hartman on 15 Aug 1852^[4] in Wayne County, OH. In 1860,^[5] the family continued to live in the same county. Living with Peter (45) and his 2nd wife Rosanna (38) were his children from his previous marriage: Samuel (18), Sarah (17), Mary (15), and Aaron (12). An additional two children, appeared on this census, a daughter of Peter and Rosannah, Susan Gault (5), and another child, relationship unknown, Geroge R. Ricketts (7).
