Biography

Reuben Gaylor was born in and about 1833 in Campbell County, Tennessee. His parents were Allen Gaylor and Jane Burris the 1st wife of Allen. Rueben learned the trade of Hatter from his father and had quite a Hat Business. He married Martha Gaylor , his 1st cousin and daughter of John Gaylor and Barbara Hatmaker on the 29th of June 1854 in Campbell County, Tennessee while visiting family in Campbell County.
