His mother's maiden name was Johnson.

There have been a number of John White Geary's born in the 19th century. One candidate is John W. Geary, b. abt 1882 in Arizona, lived in San Francisco in the 1930 census. The 1900 census lists J. W. Geary, born June 1881 in Arizona, living in Seattle, Washington, with his parents, Wm. L. (a retired "U. S. Officer") and A. E. Geary. The wedding announcement for John Geary and Mary Stone says that he is the son of Maj. William Logan Geary. So this sounds like the right person.

Also, a John White Geary, b. June 13, 1881, living at 3019 Hilleger Ave., Berkeley, Alameda, California, where he was an assistant district manager for Certaintied Products Corp. He lived with his mother Agnes E. Geary (WWI Draft Reg.).

John White Geary, b. June 13, 1881 in Fort Grant, AZ, died on Aug. 2, 1955. His wife was Ursula S. Geary. They lived in San Francisco. Son of William L. and Agnes (Johnson) Geary.

In John White Geary's WWII draft registration, he lived at 3161 Washington St. in San Francisco, which was his address of record at the time of his death. His birth was June 13, 1881 in Fort Grant, AZ, so this is the one we are interested in.

In 1903, John White Geary was a member of the Beta Psi chapter of Sigma NU at the University of California at Berkely, where he was a sophomore.
