Biography

'Dick' was born in 1911, son of George L. and Henrietta (Rogers) Gee. He was married to Dorothy Ann Burroughs. Obituary: "Veteran of heroic action on South Pacific beaches in World War 11, Dick Gee one time partner in the Sterling Pharmacy in Elsinore, died Monday evening after a short illness.

Mr. Gee saw service with the 5th Amphibious Force in landings at Tarawa, Iwo Jima, the Marianas and Okinawa.

He was born at Glenwood, Iowa in 1912 and graduated from the Clayton University College of Pharmacy in 1935 at Omaha, Nebraska. He enlisted in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman with his later partner, Dale Wilterding. In June 1942 and was separated from the service on October 25, 1945.

Mr. Gee married Dorothy Burroughs of Elsinore a high school teacher. and the couple had one son H. L. Gee. The surviving family now lives in La Mesa, He also leaves a brother Lawrence Gee in San Diego and a sister in Omaha. After dissolving partnership with Mr. Wilterding in Elsinore, Mr. Gee operated a pharmacy in Hernet for two years and then moved to San Diego. He was a member of Elsinore Lodge No. 289, F.& A.M."
