Benajah born May 31, 1713 [1] or May 31, 1714[2]
"The eldest son must have had a different mother from the other children, for there is a lapse of eighteen years between the eldest and second child and the youngest is thirty-two years younger than the eldest." R. Cutter
Cutter's point seems to be valid, but the birth dates of Keziah and Sarah do not seem to agree with the supposed date of Joseph's marriage to Susannah Silsbee in 1713. The link to the source for Susannah is either broken or requires a paid subscription making it unviewable to many (most?) researchers. Benajah, Joseph II, Silas and Ezra must belong to another wife rather than Sarah if her death occurred in 1713 as stated. Joseph I's birthdate supports Joseph Sr.'s marriage date to Sarah Howard. Is it reasonable to assume that Keziah and Sarah are the daughters of Sarah Howard, suggested by the naming of the child Sarah after her mother? (would Susannah approve of naming a daughter of hers after the former wife of Joseph Sr., or is this modern day thinking?) Should the gap between Joseph I and daughters Keziah and Sarah be ignored and assume they are all three Sarah Howard's children? Could they be children from a prior marriage of Susannah's, step-children to Joseph? A lot of questions here.Beardsley-386 17:43, 27 June 2015 (EDT)

August, Ginger: Email Title: August, Ginger M., Geer Family Association Historian <GingerA123@aol.com>, dated Tuesday, May 18, 1999.
Lists the ancestry of James A. Geer. Taken from the 1923 Geer Genealogy, reprinted by the Geer Family Association.

Text: Subject: Re: Geer Lineage from Immigrant
Dear Harold: Email is as sophisticated computerwise as I get--don't even know what a Gedfile is. I will give you sketch of your descendancy from Immigrant George Geer(e) of England--MA and CT in thumbnail sketch--but since it is all in 1923 Geer Genealogy and corrected and added to in the Supplement we put out in 1991--and since we reprinted both recently and they are available to you--and we need folks to buy them, here goes:
George (1) Geer(e) m. Sarah Allyn, d/o Robert (of Allyn's Pt., CT);
Joseph (2) Geer b. CT m. 1st wife Sarah HOWARD;
Benajah (3) Geer b. CT m. Elizabeth CLARK;
Jedediah (4) Geer b.CT [ID# 62] m. Sarah DODGE;
Jedediah (5) Geer [ID# 198] b. CT m. Phoebe HAWKINS;
DYER/JEDEDIAH (6) Geer b. VT [ID # 480] m. Salome "Sally" WHITE;
Dyer A. (7) Geer b. VT [ID# 480-3] m. Anna Eliza[beth] ARNOLD b. OH;
James A. (8) Geer [ID # 480-3-2] m. Margaret EDGAR.
Now I trust you will join up with the Geer Family Association right away as a delay to June 1 means losing money as the price goes up to /yr, and it is now /yr. I don't handle dues or membership, but David A. Geer, our sec.-treas. would be glad to hear from you.
Dyer Geer's Bible Records were published a few years back in the newsletter as I recall, from someone in Michigan. Large Geer family! Glad we connected and hope you are a longtime member of the GFA! Your CT roots are strong and we meet in 2 yrs in Geer Country again as an association.
Keep in touch, and let David A. Geer know all about the address info, as HE WILL NEED it to get your newsletters coming.
Warmly, Ginger M. August, Geer Family Association Historian

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benajah by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benajah:
