Husband to Nancy Culbertson Gentry (2nd wife), children from this union: Amanda Rhodes Gentry James (1843-1913), Allie V. Gentry Farrell (1841-1911), Alexander Gentry (1845-?) and Samuel Rhodes Gentry (1839-1864). Son of Richard Gentry who fought in the Revolutionary War and is buried at Jefferson Barracks Nat. Cem. His first wife was Allie Moore (1805-1835), there were four children from this union.
