The Adams were from Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. The 1850 census says Mary was born in Virginia but she may be from Pennsylvania also. There doesn't seem to be any Kirkwood's in Jefferson County, KY of the generation that could be her parents. (contributed by Martha Easter, June 2014) Maiden name of "George" suggested by Michael Butler #47599845.
