Gilbert Gerard was the ancestor of the Gerards, Lords Gerard, of Bromley, the Earls of Macclesfield, and the Gerards, of Fiskerton.[1]
Marriage
Gilbert was married to Anne Ratcliffe.[2] She was the daughter and heir of Thomas Ratcliffe of Winmarleigh, Lancashire, England (See Ward below) [2] and Isabel Boteler or Butler.[3]

Gilbert Gerard and Anne Ratcliffe had seven children, including four daughters and three sons:
Thomas Gerard first Baron Gerard of Gerrard's Bromley in 1603.[2]
Margaret married Sir Peter Legh of Lyme, Cheshire, England (d. 1636).[6][7]

1559 - 1581 -- Gilbert Gerard served as Attorney-General. [2]
Gilbert Gerard owned an estate at Sudbury, Middlesex, England. [10]
Circa 1571 - 1593 -- Gilbert Gerard was Vice-Chancellor of Duchy of Lancaster. [2]
