Alfred Gerrard was born around 1864 in Sunderland Point, Lancashire, England. He was the son of John Gerrard and Isabella Townley.
He married Frances Parker on 09 November 1892 in Poulton-le-Sands, Lancashire. [1] Their children included:
Mary Isabel Gerrard, christened on 03 September 1893 in Poulton-le-Sands, Lancashire [2]
Alfred Henry Gerrard, christened on 22 September 1895 in Standish, Lancashire [3]
Frances Margaret Gerrard, christened on 02 March 1898 in Standish [4]
Annie Reeves Gerrard, christened on 19 April 1900 in Standish [5]
Mary's christening record states that Alfred was a grocer and that the family residence was on Primrose Street, Poulton-le-Sands.
The census record of 1901 shows the family living in Bare, near Poulton. Alfred, age 37, was working as a grocer. An oddity of this record is that Annie appears as "Armenia R Gerrard". [6]
The family was still living together in Bare ten years later. [7]
