Biography

Born in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts, 1787 to Elbridge Gerry and Ann Thompson. Catherine married James Trecothick Austin and had 2 children.

Death of her father: Three sons and six daughters survived Mr. Gerry, as follows: Catharine, married to Hon. James T. Austin; Eliza, married to Major David Townsend; Ann, Elbridge, Thomas Russell, Helen Maria, Captain James Thompson, Eleanor Stanford, and Emily Louise, who died in New Haven, December 28, 1894, and was the last surviving daughter of a signer of the Declaration of Independence.[1]

James Trecothick Austin and Catharine Gerry were married on 2 October 1806, in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.[2][3]

Catharine, daughter of Elbridge & Ann Gerry, died (age 63) on 9 June 1850 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.[4] Catherine was mentioned on a memorial in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States with a death date of 6 September 1850.[5]

Gerry-248 and Gerry-154 appear to represent the same person because: Apparently, I found an alternate spelling of Catherine listed on her findagrave.com memorial. These are the same person, but for the misspelling.
