Biography

Mary "Polly" Getchell was born, 1 Mar 1793, in that part of Machias, Maine, later set off as Marshfield, the daughter of Joseph Getchell and Sarah "Sally" Berry; [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] died at East Machias, Maine, 3 Feb 1857, aged 64y, [6] [7] and is buried there in the Hadley's Lake Cemetery. [6] [8]

She married at Machias, 27 Jun 1819, James Brown. [4] [6] [9] [10]

Enumerated with her daughter, Sarah, and son-in-law, Henry A. Gardner, in the 1850 federal census of East Machias. [11]
