Biography

Mary Lucinda "Polly" Gibbs was born in 1812 in North Carolina. She married Pleasant Reynolds Manes on February 23, 1832, in Rhea, Tennessee. They had six children in 10 years. She died in April 1850 in Hyde, North Carolina, at the age of 38.[1]

The family resided in Hamilton County, TN in 1850. The marriage produced at least six children before the mother's death in the early 1850's in Arkansas: Elizabeth, John Wesley, Sr. Nancy Ann, William, George and Millie.
