Biography

This profile is part of the Gibbs Name Study.
Jacob was the seventh child of Nicholas and Mary Gibbs, born 1776 in NC. He came to Tennessee with his parents, where he spent the rest of his life in what is know as Gibbs Community.
Abt 1800, he married Huldah Bullard Reed, widow of Watson Reed, and mother of two daughters, Hete N and Elizabeth. Huldah and Jacob had eight children: Martha "Patsy", Nicholas, Mary, Joseph, Sarah, Pacify Tinsey, Rebecca, and John
During the war of 1812, he was a Pivate in the Tennessee Volunteer Mounted Gunmen in 1813, from Sep 23 to Dec 22, comanded by John Bayless[1] Jacob died in August of 1852 [2]
