Biography

Richard was born around 1698; given land by his father January 20, 1720, showing that he was of legal age at that date. Richard married 17 Mar 1725/6, Rebecca Cowgill, daughter of Ralph Cowgill.[1] Richard and Rebecca declared their intention to marry at the 3 Feb 1725/6 Chesterfield Monthly Meeting. Richard's father gave consent in writing, and Rebecca's father "being present gave his consent". Richard also produced a Certificate of Clearness from the Burlington Monthly Meeting.[2] On 3 Mar 1725/6 they declared their intent a second time and were cleared to proceed.[2]

Richard died in 1737/8 and administration of his estate was granted to Rebecca. His estate was inventoried on 20 Feb 1737/8 by Benjamin Talman and William Pancoast, Jr., with a value of £113.16.8.[3]
