Biography

Emigrated to America from Ireland in 1766. Served in the Revolutionary War in South Carolina under Captain Thompson. He lost his rifle in the battle at Brier Creek, and two friends gave affidavit later on May 10, 1782, that it was worth 25 pounds Old Currency. His National Pension Claim Number is R470 and his South Carolina Audited Accounts and Stub Indent Number is AA 2788.

He died of Yellow Fever. After his death, his widow and children went on to Tennessee and Missouri. Four of his sons enlisted in the War of 1812 and were prominent in the settlement of Warren County, Missouri, with Major Thomas Kennedy.
