Sir Thomas was the son of Sir John Gibson of Pentland and Alderston by his third wife, Elizabeth Thomson, daughter of Sir Thomas Thomson, 1st Baronet of Duddingston bought the lands of King's Cramond in 1694 but sold it in 1697 and bought Keirhill. Was declared baronet of same 31 Dec 1702. [1]
He married Jean Marjoribanks daughter Edward Marjoribanks of Hallyards and his wife Agnes Murray on 11 Jun 1702 in Kirkliston.[2]
