Jessie was born in 1867. She was the daughter of John William Gibson and Ann Unknown.
She married Fred Samuel Joseph Chapman Retter in 1890.
They went on to have at least 10 children.
In the 1911 NZ Electoral Rolls Jessie was recorded at Horowhenua. Her occupation was recorded as Domestic Duties.
In the 1935 NZ Electoral Rolls she and her husband Fred were recorded at Matangi, in the Waikato. They were retired.
Jessie died on 1 October 1936 at the age of about 68 and was buried on 2 October 1936 at Hamilton East Cemetery, Hamilton, Hamilton City, Waikato, New Zealand[1][2]. PLOT: BB-L-017
