I think you're right - too many re-used names. I find a Heinrich William and think BINGO and then find out he's 50 years too young! The challenges of genealogy!

Thank you Deb. I believe we have two differente Fredekikes here. The one I have on my tree had Giese as maiden name and travelled in a boat with my G-G-granfather to southern Brazil, I could find the couple in the passenger list when the ship left Hamburg. I was noticing though, that the name Frederike was re-used in the family then.... by other sides of the families I noticed they used at that time to repeat names... they might be upstream related...

Deb, Friedericke [Friederike] Giese is a dead end in my genealogy... I could not find records about her in Gross Radow (Pommern) which is now in Poland. The best info we got was her ticket registered in the ship from Hamburg to Brazil, along with her husband...

I am happy that you found a Geise cousin. It looks like from your biography that you do a lot of research !

I am interesting in expanding my paternal family tree beyond my great grandfather. (mid 1800's) I have a volume but I do not know the ladies who compiled it in 1991. I'd also see if I could trace my paternal grandmother's family as well as my maternal grandparents.
