Emmett D. Giffen was born on 27 Sep. 1907 at Texas, USA.[1][2] He appeared on the census of 19 April 1910 in the household of his parents, William M. Giffen and Edith Mariah "Maria" (Dromgoole) Giffen, at San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas.[3] He appeared on the census of 3 Jan. 1920 in the household of his parents at San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas.[4] He was a student at Texas A & M University in the class of 1931.[5] He began military service on 15 Feb. 1946. His service records show that he was a Colonel in the World War II in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and in the US Air Force in the Korean War.[2] He ended military service on 30 Sep. 1967.[6]
Emmett died on 26 Sep. 2001 at Texas, at age 93 and was buried on at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas.[2] His memorial has the location of his grave.[7] He was remembered in the Cameron-Willacy A & M Club Aggie Annual Muster in 2002.[5]
