At the time of the 1861 England and Wales Census, William, Ellen, William, Sarah, Joseph, Henry, John, and Edwd Gilbert were listed as living on Malt House Row in St Peter, Derbyshire, along with a visitor[4]. At the time of the census, William's occupation was listed as "Silk Weaver".
At the time of the 1881 England and Wales Census, William, Ellen, and Joseph Gilbert were listed as living on Babington Lane in St Peter[5]. At the time of the census, William's occupation was listed as "Elastic Weaver".
