Biography

Ashnah Parrott Gilbert was born in Crawford, Arkansas. On Valentine's Day when she was sixteen years old, she married Walter Bert Lapsley in Colorado. The census tells us they lived in Washington, Oregon, and California. They had at least ten children together (FindAGrave.com record claims 12). She became a widow in 1932, and in 1940 she was living with her son Walter and his family.
