Samuel Gilbert (Aquilla4 , Gervaise3 , Michael2, Michael1) was born about 1767 in Bedford, Virginia.

A wealthy planter, formerly of Russellville, KY, who moved to Saverton, MO after peace was declared in the War of 1812.
