Biography
There is no baptism for an Ellen or Ellenor Gilbert in the Repton Parish Register around 1773 (date based on her age in 1851 census and which is 25 years before she married), nor any children baptised around then to a William Gilbert. The only Gilbert Baptism is for a Mary baptised at Repton on 7 Oct 1774 to parents George and Elizabeth. They also had a daughter Hellin baptised on 6 Feb 1776 at Repton[1]
Ellenor Gilbert married Thomas Wilson on 28 Nov 1798 at Repton by Banns. Ellenor of the parish and Thomas of Newton Solney. Witnesses Mary Gilbert and William Wilson[2]
Residence
1841 census for Newton Solney, Derbyshire has Ellen Wilson aged 55, Thomas Wilson (farmer) aged 70 and Francis Wilson aged 20 and all born in Derbyshire.[3]
1851 census for Newton Solney, Derbyshire has Ellen Wilson aged 78 born at Repton, Debyshire widowed mother with Francis Wilson aged 33 born at Newton Solney.[4]
