Biography

Eli, the son of William and Ann Gilbert was baptised at Trowbridge in Wiltshire on 27 Dec 1812.^[1]

Eli Gilbert, a bachelor cloth worker aged 24, married Louisa Durston, a spinster aged 21, at Freshford in Somerset on 9 Oct 1838 when both of Freshford with the fathers named as William Gilbert, a cloth worker, and Charles Durston a shoe maker.^[2]
