SAM GILBERT DIED SATURDAY

Services for well known farmer to be Tuesday, 2 p.m.

Samuel Thomas Gilbert, 64, well-known Jefferson county farmer, passed away at the Jefferson County Hospital at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon. He had been in failing health for the past two years, and seriously ill for three weeks prior to his death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. Melvin Pearce of Urbana, Ill. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Gilbert was born April 14, 1876, in Jefferson county. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Eyestone; one brother, William D. Gilbert; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Flinspach and Mrs. Ed Flinspach.
