Alberta's father was John Gilbert according to her marriage registration; his father was William Gilbert, the owner of a coach and cart building company in Seely's Bay. [1] His workshop was where Mr. Perry lives as recorded in 1967. The carriages were painted on the 2nd floor of the shop. There is a local memory that William's son-in-law, Ephraim Bracken may have been a partner in the business at one time. [2] This William Gilbert was the third owner of Lot 3, Concession 7; the land which is now Seeley's Bay Centennial Park; and the great-grandfather of John Bracken 1883-1969, who grew up on the farm. [3]
