Mrs. Nannie Gilbert Brantley, who celebrated her 103rd birthday on March 10, died at the home of a son, Link Brantley, on June 9, in Crittenden County. She was the widow of the late Mack Brantley.
Mrs. Brantley had been a member of the Crooked Creek Baptist Church for more than 83 years.
She could remember her parents telling of their experiences during the Civil War. She was born in 1861 and was the daughter of the late John and Perneice Gilbert of this county.
Other survivors are another son, Tom Brantley, Evansville; a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Sullivan of Sturgis; five grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosebud Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
