Biography

This profile is part of the Gilbert Name Study.

Sarah GILBERT was born 10 Nov 1705.[1] She married John MARCHANT on 24 Aug 1724.[2][3]

Some sources show Sarah Gilbert as the daughter of John Gilbert and Hannah Blackman/Blakeman.

Her will is dated 5 April 1788 and proved on 23 April 1788 in Stratford.[4]

Her inventory was completed on 1 December 1788 in Stratford.[5]

In 1790, her estate distribution was set out to Helkiah Booth, Abel Booth, Abijah Booth, Agur Booth, Anna Curtiss, the heirs of Gurdon Marchant, John Merchant, Sarah Gilbert, Polly Booth, Phebe Booth, Anne Booth, Sarah Booth, and Phebe Ann Garnesy.[6]
