Robert the son of Richard and Ann Gilbert was baptised at Fonthill Gifford on 11 Feb 1757.[1]
Robert Gilbert, a bachelor of Fonthill Gifford, married Elizabeth Foakes, a spinster of Fonthill Bishop, at Fonthill Bishop by Banns on 23 Nov 1778 with witnesses Francis Dorington and John Cool.[2]
Robert Gilbert married Judith Strong at Fonthill Gifford by Banns on 20 Feb 1792 when both of the Parish with witnesses John Strong and Thomas Morris.[3]
1841: In the 1841 Census he is assumed to be the Robert Gilbert aged 77 (he would have been about 84 based on his baptism and age at death) living next to his presumed son William at Fonthill Gifford but this need to be verified as that Robert and William could be another Gilbert family. [4]
Robert Gilbert of Fonthill Gifford was buried there on 1 Mar 1842 aged 85.[5]
