- Connie, Thanks for your response!Luvisa was the daughter of Hannah Killebrew and John Gilbert.I confirmed this from a Jones County land transaction where Hannah sold land left to her by her father Hinchey Killebrew.
- I don't know where they are buried but I haven't given up. I have searched much of the Jones County areas where William Huffman and Luvisa lived without success.There are two or three more areas I plan to search this fall.
- William and Luvisa were my paternal great grandparents. William was a blacksmith and lived in at least three different townships. Hannah (his mother-in-law) lived her last several years with William and Luvisa. This is verified by Jones County census.
- By process of elimination I am positive William's father was Lott Huffman. Lott was a son of Christopher Huffman and Sarah Humphrey. I proved Christopher and Sarah from wills. All of the Onslow County Huffmans were HOFFMANS!
