Thomas Gilbert was born on September 4, 1658, in Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut, to John Gilbert and Amy Lord.[1][2][3]
He lived through King Philip's War, 1675-1676.
He was married first to Debora Beamont on September 27, 1681, in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut.[4]

He was married second to Bethiah Youngs, most likely after the death of his first wife, in Southold.[4]
