They movedback to Hannibal where he was a steam boat agent for Keokut and Northern LinePacket Co., shipping on the Mississippi. After her husband's death in 1881,Caroline lived in Hannibal, but later moved to Falun, Saline Co., KS to livewith Dr. C. H. B. Gile. She is buried in the Gile family plot at Falun.

They moved back to this area where he wasa steam boat agent for Keokut and Northern Line Packet Co., shipping on theMississippi. He died in Hannibla 5 Jul 1881 (ref. city directories). CarolineP. lived in Hannibal, MO but later moved to Falun, Saline Co., KS to live withDr. C.H.B. Gile. She died there and is buried in the Gile family plot at FalunCem. in 1900.
