Thomas Gile was born on August 20, 1767 in Alfred, York, Massachusetts Bay, son of Daniel Gile (1739–1832) and Ruth Williams (1741–1774).
His children were:

Burleigh #124 - "He was a tanner, farmer and general trader at Alfred and accumulated a large property which he lost in some way late in life."

- In biography of grandson (son of Dau. Abigail) John Henry Conant - "Thomas Gile was three times m., his second wife being Polly Studley (Burleigh says Shackley). The name of his third wife is not given in the records consulted. The father of Thomas(5) was Daniel(4) Gile, b. at Haverhill, Mass., December 6, 1739, whose first wife was a Williams. The parents of Daniel(4) were Daniel(3) and Joanny (Heath) Gile. Daniel(3) was son of Ephraim(2) and Martha (Bradley) Gile, and grandson of Samuel(1) and Judith(Davis) Gile, who were m. September 1, 1647. Samuel( 1) Gile came to America in1636 with his brother John Gile. The latter settled at Dedham, and Samuel in1640, was one of the twelve who settled at Pentucket, now Haverhill, Mass."
