Biography

Palmer was born in 1796. He passed away in 1880.


Note

  • Burleigh #598 - "lived in Clearfield Co. PA". In Collins twp. Erie Co. NY 1836, a Palmer Gile was on the tax rolls with 67 acres, value $175. On the 1850 census, he was at Jay, Elk Co. PA. Clearfield Co. is south of Elk.
  • 1836 Collins, Erie Co. NY - Tax Records, Palmer Gile, no tsp/rg or lot #given, 67 acres, v. $175, txs - $1.75.
  • 1850 Census for Jay, Elk Co. PA shows a Palmer Gile. Next Co. Snyder, Jefferson Co. PA Ray Gile, age 28, b. NY, with wife Masilla (?), dau. Alice 2, son Allison age 9 mos., fam. b. PA. Could Ray be Palmer's son? So entered, on SPECULATION.
  • 1810 census AIS Otsego Co. NY p. 243 - Name P. Guild, appears to have 5 males under 10, 1 10-16 and 1 over 45. Not this one.
  • There is a Joseph Palmer Guile (#518) b. CT 1787, with Military record in war of 1812.
  • 1840 Soundex shows a Palmer Guile, Auburn, Susquehanna, PA (son of Rea's brother Henry.) (Have extensive records on him.)
