 !+Obit - "George C. Gile, well known in this community, passed away at theFlorence home at Marengo, Thursday. He had been in ill health for severalyears and two years ago suffered a stroke which left him partially paralyzed. He was born at Huntley, IL July 17, 1873, where he farmed on the Gilehomestead for many years. On Jan. 15, 1916, he was married to Jessie Hart ofMarengo. The family moved to Marengo in 1918 to make their home and shortlyafterwards to DeKalb Co. Surviving are his wife, six daughters, Mrs. Dora Darby, Mrs. Myrtle Vatne ofAurora, Mrs. Elsie McArdle of Dundee, Mrs. Eleanor Brown of Woodstock, and Mrs.Viola Busby of Maple Park. Three sons, Earl of Woodstock, Ray and Melvin of DeKalb and one stepson,Richard Hart of Aurora also survive, along with a brother Walter and onesister, Dora McGrew of Chicago. An infant daughter, four sisters, one brotherand a grandchild preceded him in death. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Funeralservices will be held Sunday at the Ronan Mortuary and at the CongregationalChurch at Huntley, Burial will be held at

the Huntley Cemetery."
