291. JOSEPH BANKSON was a shipwright born about 1718, and on 16 Jan 1752 he married ELIZABETH (GILES) SLEMAKER at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Baltimore Co., Maryland. She was the daughter of John and Cassandra (Smith) Giles and great granddaughter of John Giles who settled in Anne Arundel County, Maryland by 1667. Elizabeth was the widow of James Slemaker whom she had married on 15 Sep 1745 and with whom she had a son: John born 13 Jul 1746. Joseph Bankson was a vestryman at St. Paul's in 1754 and died on 12 Jan 1762 aged 44 years, "a loving husband, a sincere friend and a charitable man" according to his tombstone in St. Paul's Cemetery. He owned lots on Front Street in Baltimore Town which were divided among the children. Sometime after Joseph died on 3 Jan 1762, Elizabeth married a Michael Webster. Elizabeth died before 25 Oct 1788 when her will was proved. James and Joseph Bankson were named executors of her estate on 18 Feb 1791 as recorded in Baltimore Administrations Liber 10:295.

It might mean, a will in Baltimore Co, MD..I think "4/324 means Book 4 pg 324-It was proved 10/25/1788.
