Biography

Elizabeth Gill was possibly a descendant of Stephen Gill of York County who served in the House of Burgesses in 1652. Her parents were Henry and Margaret Gill of England. John Armistead of New Kent, vestryman of Blissland Parish, married Miss Elizabeth Gill, an heiress in 1722. https://sallysfamilyplace.com/anthony-armistead-jane-starkey-margarit-benit/

According to Ancestral Trackers, Page 8, there were four children of this union: Colonel Gill Armistead who married Elizabeth Allen. There were five daughters, Elizabeth, Susannah, Mary, Frances and Martha, and one son William. Major William Armistead who married Mary LNU. Their daughter Susanna married David Dandridge. Colonel John Armistead who married first Agnes LNU, and secondly Mary Burbage.
