Biography

Fany Gillespie was enumerated as daughter at Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama for the June 12, United States Census, 1880. She was noted as at home, born 1876 in Alabama and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self Peyton Gillespie, wife Minerva Gillespie and daughter Jennie Gillespie.[1]

Fannie Gillespie wed A. J. Abercrombie October 26, 1892 in Jefferson County, Alabama.[2]

Fannie Abercrombie was enumerated as wife of the head of household in ED 97 Precinct 12 Leeds, Jefferson County, Alabama for the June 20, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born April 1876 in Alabama. She had been married for eight years and was the mother of two children who were still living. Also included in the household are head Andrew J Abercrombie, son Robert W Abercrombie and daughter Loucile Abercrombie as seen in an image of the original census.[3]

Gillespie was listed as the mother of William Robert Abercrombie who died April 7, 1957 in Santa Clara County, California. The father was listed as Abercrombie.[4]

Gillespie was listed as the mother of Frances Lucile Roberts who died March 19, 1997 in Sacramento, California, The father was listed as Abercrombie.[5]

Fannie Gillespie Abercrombie is buried at Shiloh Cemetery in Leeds, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.[6]
