She married in 1884 at her fathers home in Maxwell Road, Blenheim, to Charles Jenkins.
They moved to Wellington where Charles worked as a printer/compositor for the NZ Printing Office.
Janet had 5 children in her marriage, William Montrose, Percy, Mabel Harriet, Lillian Irwin and Charles Harold.
Janet nee Gillespie Jenkins died in 1941 at Wellington Hospital and was cremated at Karori.
