Biography
Joel Gillespie was enumerated as son of the head of household in Justice Precinct 3 Round Top & Carmine towns, Fayette County, Texas for the June 25, United States Census, 1900. He was born September 1899 in Texas and was single. Also included in the household are head Crawford Gillespie, wife Claudy Gillespie and daughter Jenny Gillespie as seen in an image of the original census.[1]
Joe Bailey Gillespie was enumerated as son of the head of household in Justice Precinct 3, Fayette County, Texas for the April 29, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1899 in Texas and single as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Joseph C Gillespie, wife Claudia Gillespie, daughter Jimmie Gillespie, daughter Tennie Gillespie, son Lennie Gillespie, aunt Maggie May and cousin Levenia Boothe.[2]

Joe Bailey Gillespie is buried at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Brazoria County, Texas.[3]
