Alexander Gillespie was born on November 4, 1872 in Plumstead, Kent, London, UK. On April 10, 1892, he married Alice Smith at St. Andrew's Church in Battersea, London. By the time of the 1901 census, Alexander was living in the Lambeth District of London where he was employed as a Hydraulic Press Hand Steel Worker. He was the father of six children including Horace, William, Ethel, Alex, Arthur, and Alice Maud.
Alexander Gillespie died at the age of 33 on August 31, 1906 in London.
Research Notes
The 1881 Census indicates Alexander's mother to be Anne, b. 1843 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The GRO Reference from 1872 states mother's maiden name as Simpson; however, no death records have yet to be found so she has not been included in the profile at this point.
Exact dates were already on the profile but no sources have been found to confirm them.
