Prudence was born in 1843. She is the daughter of Joseph Gillespie and Pheby.
She was baptised on 15 April 1843 in the Eglish Parish, Armagh, Ireland. Her father was recorded as Joseph Gillespie and her mother as Phoebe. [1]
Prudence Gillespie married Samuel Knipe (farmer) both full age, on 24 July 1879 at the Eglish Church (Church of Ireland), Eglish Parish, County Armagh, Ireland. Prudence was living at Lower Eglish Street in Armagh. Fathers Robert Knipe & Joseph Gillespie, both farmers. Witnesses Joseph Gillespie and Thomas Knipe. [2]
On 31 March 1901 the Knipe family lived in Culkeeran, Glenaul, County Armagh. Samuel Knipe (52) Farmer & Prudence Knipe (54) both Church of Ireland, with servants Ann Cooney (20), John Hines (40) & Charles Magair (22). [3]
She passed away in 1910 [4] aged 62, wife of Samuel Knipe, farmer.
Probate granted on 1 September 1910 [5]
- Administration of the Estate of Prudence Knipe late of Culcairn County Armagh who died 6 July 1910 granted at Armagh to Samuel Knipe Farmer the Husband.
