Mother of James Gillespie Blaine.

There is some evidence, hard to site and hard to locate, that Maria Gillespie was the daughter of Cornelius (Neal) Gillespie Jr (b. 1772) and Tamar Elizabeth Pursell (b. 1772).

Neal Gillespie Jr is described as the son of Neal Gillespie "a native of Ireland."
