Thomas C.[1] Gillespie was born in about 1754 in Rowan County, North Carolina, USA.[2] He married Margaret Flora McKay (1768-1821)[3]. He died on Oct 11, 1837 in Rowan County and is buried at the Thyatira Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mill Bridge, Rowan, North Carolina, USA, along with his wife and two children (John C. Gillespie and Flora Gillespie).[4]

Lot 1: Slaves Roger, Caty and Silas valued at $950 to Richard Gillespie with payments from Archibald of $47 and William of $41
Lot 2: Rachel and Jesse valued at $1025 to Flora Gillespie with payment from William of $13 which is her full share
Lot 3: Isaac and Emiline valued at $925 to heirs at law of Thomas Gillespie deceased and to receive from William Gillespie $78 dollars and from McCoy Gillespie $35 which is their full share
Lot 4: Sandy and Rebeckah valued at $972 to John Gillespie and he is to receive from McCoy Gillespie $66 which is his full share
Lot 5: Parker and Margaret valued at #1300 to McCoy Gillespie and is to pay back to the heirs of Thomas Gillespie $45 and to John Gillespie $66 and to Christopher Graham $138 and to George Gillespie $23
Lot 6: Betty and Alexander at $1015 to George Gillespie and he is to receive from McCoy Gillespie $23 which is his full share
