Biography

Residence 1921

Census of Humbermouth. Jessie Gillett, age 9. Born in Humbermouth. In the household of her father, John Gillett, her mother, Minnie, and a number of siblings.[1]

Residence 1945

Census of Humbermouth. Fred Winsor, born in Green Bay, age 43. In a household with his wife, Jessie (age 35, born in Humber), and their children: Ruby L (15), Phyllis F (12), Jean G. (9), Robert G. (7), Mildred R. (5), Verna M. (3), and Samuel R. (2/12). All the children were born in Humber.[2]

Burial

She was buried in Mount Patricia Cemetery, Corner Brook.[3] Her tombstone reads "Winsor/ Mother Jessie, Aug. 16, 1910--May 2, 1994 / Father Fred, Oct. 30, 1900--Apr. 10, 1994".

Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mrs. Jessie Winsor announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, May 2nd, 1994 in her 83rd year. She is predeceased by her husband Fred on April 10th, 1994. She will be sadly missed by her 4 sons: Chesley and wife Agnes of Corner Brook, Bob and wife Shirley of St. John's, Sam and wife Noella of Thailand, Elwin and wife Gloria of Ethophia; 7 daughters: Ruby and husband Chesley Burt of Irishtown, Phyllis and husband Fred Dawe of Jeffreys, Jean and husband Howard Ball of Grand Falls, Mildred and husband James Blacklocke of Alberta, Verna Winsor, Maxine and husband Brian Foley, all residing at Nova Scotia, and Joan Winsor of Ontario; 37 grandchldren, 32 great grandchildren; one brother, Jack Gillett of Corner Brook; 2 sisters: Rose Wellman of Corner Brook and Anita Stagg of Clarkes Beach. She will be also missed by a large circle of relatives and freinds. She is predeceased by her daughter Judy in 1991[4].
