Germaine Girouard II was born on April 2, 1681 in Beaubassin, Acadia. He was baptized the same day. His parents were Germain Girouard and Marie Bourgeois.[1][2]
In 1686, at Chiqnitou dit Beaubassin, Germain Girouer (sic), aged 4, was living with his parents, Germain GIROUARD, aged 30, and Marie BOURGEOIS, aged 34, and his sister, Agnes, aged 7 months. Also, living with him, were his three half-brothers: Jean CYR, aged 15, Pierre CYR, aged 8, and Guillaume CYR, aged 6. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 4 arpents of cultivable land with 8 cattle, 3 sheep, and 4 hogs.[3]
Germaine married Jeanne Barrieau about 1703 in Port Royal, Acadia and they had nine children: Unknown, Michel, Marguerite, Francois (dit Menu), Aldegone, Marguerite, Anne, Marie Josephe and Jacques.[4]
