Biography

According to an article about Rev. War Soldiers from the Martinsburg Pa area on June 6, 1935, he is one of about 9 veterans whose place of burial was unknown.

In a lengthy obit of his son, Matthias, written in the local paper on August 30, 1888, John Peter is mentioned as living to the age of 96 and was helped off a battlefield during the Rev. War on the back of George Washington's horse.
